The Blue Cottage is of traditional Breton stone and slate. It was first built to be lived in by the farm labourer and had a typical mud floor. Times change and the hired help with his horse has been replaced with a tractor. The cottage fell into ruins and has since been renovated to provided a cosy cottage, suitable for holidaying.
The accommodation is for 4 people and a baby.
Downstairs is a comfortable lounge with the focal point being the wood burning stove. On Autumn, winter and spring holidays, the logs you load into the stove, the chestnuts that you collect to roast, together with the original wooden beams add to the atmosphere.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a full sized cooker, fridge, coffee maker, microwave and toaster. All pots, pans, china and wine glasses are provided so to are basic groceries such as salt, pepper, tin foil and kitchen roll.
The dining table overlooks the courtyard, an area which is protected from the northeast by the L shaped farm building and from the west by the trees, leaving only the south and it’s sunshine. A natural sun trap to sunbathe, breakfast, snack, wine or dine.
Back indoors and up the pine staircase, large windows give an airy feeling and the “beautiful view” in the name. The roof space hosts a mezzanine landing on which there are two single beds. There is a double bedroom too. All beds are fully made up, ready to sleep in. The shower room is up here as well with WC and washbasin.
